Here’s a highlight from my appearance on the Smiley show last night in which Tavis asks me why the Republicans don’t shift strategies and move to expand their base. The full interview is here.

After watching your interview, I would never waste my money on such rubbish and bias to purchase your book. Your history is slightly scewed as my history indicates to me that George Wallace, Lester Maddox, etc were Democrats and were the ones in the news “promoting” segregation. Unfortunately, on both sides of the aisle there are extremists and that is what both groups attempt to profile the remainder of either party. I would suggest you interview the voice of reason within the Republican party before you send us all to fire and brimstone. What I also find humorous that many Democrats who say the Republicans are intolerant of others, display their own hypocrisy by blasting opinions made by anyone disagreeing with them, lol
I want less government in my life as I can see how they have managed Medicare, Social Security, Post Office and Amtrak, etc. All were either voted into existence or subsidized by a Democratically controlled Congress over the last 50 years except for six years that the Rep had control.
Keep up the good work Max.
Rams99, you’re right there are extremists on both sides. But who exactly is the voice of reason in the Republican party? Does this person you speak of exist? I’m struggling not to laugh. Blasting opinions of others? Isn’t that free speech? The same free speech that protects Fox’s ragtag team of fear-mongers’ spreading lies to keep corporate executives pockets full? Exactly.
Oh you Reagabots. Are you not aware of the government subsidies to corporations? $20 billion annually to the health insurance industry, for one. Perhaps you should do a little reading. You want less government? Hell, everyone does. Until they need a student loan, or become physically disabled in an accident, or can’t afford private school for their child. I wonder if you’d rather corporations take control of Medicare, Social Security, etc. Then we can all gasp, and act surprised when rapacious, illegal and unethical corporate practices send our economy into another tailspin, along with our livelihood. (The FBI found that 80% of defaulted loans were due to shady practices on the part of the BANKS) Open your eyes. With your logic, we may as well just privatize the Fire Department. They can gauge their response time by the size of your wallet. Apparently that’s freedom to you? Allowing yourself to be used and exploited by corporations through materialism, government corruption, and mass media manipulation? Enjoy your ideological slumber.
Keep up the good work Max.
Max you are doing a great job,
I saw you on morning Joe and I realize that people want to be lied to, when faced with the truth they can’t handle it. You had everyone on morning Joe speechless because they know that everything that you said was true. The republicans want to make this Obama’s economy and wars but real adults know that it will always be known as Bush and the republicans biggest failures of our lifetime. Bush Presidency failure make Carter’s look like a success.Thank you for constantly reminding the republicans of their failures… Maybe one day they will change but the majority of Americans have moved on and left them to worship Limbaugh, Beck and Hannity….. Good Job!
Thanks, Tabatha. What really set me off on Morning Joe was the assignment of false equivalencies between the mostly centrist Dems and the totally far-right GOP. This has to be knocked down, though I wish the discussion had materialized in a more civil way.
