The idea that Americans are so pro-Israel is a myth. About 20 percent are actively pro-Israel, 20 percent are actively anti-Israel, and the other 60 percent don't really care much either way. When push comes to shove, they take the liberal democracy over the totalitarian entity. Regardless of what the numbers are, it will have little effect on whether Israel chooses to defend its citizens. It’s not a big surprise. The idea that Americans are so pro-Israel is a myth.
