Max, in this YouTube video, the Vice Chairman of AIP says she was a member:

Listen around 6:00 minutes into the video. He says she was a member but left when she became a mayor and to get along and go along she joined the Republican Party. He then goes on to talk about ways members can infiltrate other organizations to advance their agenda.

Palin’s cynical opportunism is dangerous. She advocated for secession when it advanced her ambitions, she used her Governor position to seek revenge for her sister’s failed marriage, and she accuses Obama and Biden of being anti-American to get herself elected. She cannot be trusted with an office in our government. She will misuse and abuse the power we give her.

As an Alaskan, I have to tell you (as I explained to Max while in Alaska) that we live a certain way up here-quietly, peacefully, and non-politically. Seceding from the nation is a common joke around Alaska; we are basically not considered a part of the continuous “Lower 48″ as we call it. We are treated differently when we visit these other states as if we are ignorant and savage, living in igloos, riding our moose, dancing with polar bears or whatever other crap most average Americans can think up about us. The women here are much different than the women down south meaning we are approachable and not so considered with beauty, shopping, money, etc, like most women of the states seem to be. Max, along with other men that live in mainstream America, have ackowledged this about Alaskan women numerous times. The men in Alaska are known for their hard-work and ruggedness, something most men of the “continuous states” are not. We do bother with politics-hell the only reason we know who’s running for president this election is because our governor is on the republican ticket (by the way she should have remained in her current position as governor and not made the attempt to take on the world; unfortunately absolute power corrupts absolutely); we would be clueless otherwise. We do not concern ourself with the economy because we have our own economy here (but that will soon change thanks to Sarah-she was doing so well for Alaska too; she just couldn’t resist the urge to fudge that one up). When we talk about seceding from the nation, we are speaking wishfully and not truthfully, in hopes that maybe one day the self-sustaining lifestyle that most of us live in this great state will be reflected on as a whole [state]; but in actuality we know that we can never secede from the union and form our own country because we rely too much on DC’s money (ie: the bridge to nowhere project!) and we do not have the military power in case a country tries to invade us (ie: our neighbors whom we can see “from Palins house”-they are not exactly our allies and even those Russian communities that are developed in Alaska, keep their distance from the Alaskan Americans; ironically now that I think about it I don’t think I’ve ever talked to one, and I certainly don’t think Palin has either, and in my community we see them every day at our box stores here). So in regards to what’s going on in the media about Palin and the sececession of Alaska, it will never happen and is basically an inside joke to Alaskans. The Alaska Independence Party can have their meetings but the reality is they will never go any further than the room to which they congregate. Not a valid argument, my friend, and you are giving Alaskans a bad rep. In light of the situation, please go easy on us and don’t draw to much attention to us because our governor is an idiot and thinks she could take on the world and remember what I said about how we as Alaskans are going to suffer more than any of the folks down there if McCain is elected. Our privacy and our way of life will shrivel and we will become like the rest of the states (no offense to anyone, we just take pride in the way we live here because it is different than most places in the United States. And if McCain is elected (I hope not) than Washington DC has their “in” and can use our resources here however they want. Damn you for that Palin! You were better off as governor, you B****

I guess next time I should proof-read!! There are a few errors in the above comment. I meant to say concerned with… instead of considered in line 8 and I meant to say we do NOT bother with…any other mistakes, I apologize. It is late and I haven’t slept in days with the anxiety I feel if McCain/Palin are elected. Our lives in Alaska will be turned upside-down. It’s a rather scary thought. For those of you who have no idea what I’m talking about, it is an Alaskan thing. Any more questions on Alaska and what’s really going on up here (for example: the troopergate investigation) please feel free to ask and I’ll do my best to give all the inside details.

One other thing… if you click on the link in Eveks comment you will notice in the video what the “Alaskan Independence Party” consists of…. a hillbilly from the interior (no ill intentions meant by that comment-to him or anyone else-but that is kind of what we are up here, for the most part) and a small group of wishful thinkers. Trust me the AIP is as harmless to anyone as Ralph Nader is to the republican or democrat party-they are all just wishful thinkers. There are not enough Alaskans that really want to secede, or care enough to secede from the union-we like the money we get from national funds too much, as with any state!! So if you’re concerned with the AIP, don’t be. Alaskans are too stoned and unmotivated for any type of action like that. Take it from an insider and fellow Alaskan, I know first-hand!!
