Hope you are well. I’ve gotten a bit behind checking up on what you’ve been doing and I just watched this video. First off, great job–what you’re doing is so valuable I can’t even begin to give you enough kudos on your work.

My second reaction is that the video was actually quite disturbing for me to watch. It is this type of blank and white, a-critical, totalitarian thinking that will indeed lead us down the road to Armageddon if these people are successful in grabbing any additional power in this county.

For those who claim that the video is biased (or that you interviewed only the “crazies” to make everyone else look bad) I can certainly attest that the views of the people interviewed represent well standard Christian fundamentalist eschatology in this country. Certainly this is not representative of historical Christianity, but every word rang true within its milieu–this the religion in which I was raised. (I hesitate to call it Christianity.) Christians who believe otherwise would not likely be caught dead at rally like this.

I just don’t understand why supporting Jews or Judaism = being a Zionist (even the ultra-orthodox Jews in Meah Sharim understand this) or why the modern state of Israel has some sort of claim to infallibility with these people. (I also don’t think there’s a single person actually living in Israel who would agree.)

AND it seems like if they were actually supporting and loving Jews, they should have welcomed YOU with open arms, Maxie!! Loving Judiasm for these people simply means appropriating/controlling Judaism under the moniker “Judeo-Christian values” –nothing but a synonym for fundamentalist Christian theology–there’s nothing particularly “Judeo” about it.

They love/support the Jews that are in the abstract, “over there” in Israel. (Certainly not the Jews who live across the street.) And even the Israeli Jews that are are living now, or even Joe Lieberman(!) for that matter is bound for hell in the opinion of these people unless he/she accepts Jesus Christ. Why Jewish people would participate in this cacophony of crap is beyond me.

Israel´s future depends on achieving a permanent peace agreement with the Palestinians, NOT on going to bed with these freaks! They can be described in the same league as the president of Iran: “Religious fanatics who are part of a charismatic apocalyptical cult” (by the way, some Jews at the extreme right of the political spectrum are part of the same category…).

Can’t have my “leaders” Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson coming after me for being one of the few brothas who still uses the N Word as a term of endearment. You have more strength than I going into an event like Taylor’s American Renaissance conference, listening to some of the vilest racism imaginable, and interviewing these folks afterwards. I just couldn’t do it. At least for your sake, since Taylor has updated his racialism to not exclude and discriminate against Jews, you’ll be able to get in unscathed. I doubt even Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson doing the Bojangle dance with a watermelon in one hand could get into American Renaissance.

That video should be interesting, no doubt.
