I’m Back, Sort Of
Sorry everybody for falling off the face of the earth for a week. I’ve been working on some new video projects and I think you will be grateful I put all my energy into them once you see them. Hopefully my video on the College Republican National Convention will be up within 48 hours. I also dropped a print piece on the Nation’s website on Monday about the Christian right’s swift-boating of Mitt Romney in the service of Fred Thompson. Here is an excerpt:
With onetime Republican presidential frontrunner Senator John McCain in meltdown, Mitt Romney suddenly finds himself under fire from some of the Christian right’s most influential activists. Romney’s evangelical critics claim the former Massachusetts governor and devout Mormon was complicit in the Marriott hotel chain’s sale of pay-per-view porn on its in-room television sets when he served on the corporation’s board of directors from 1992 to 2001. Two Christian-right operatives involved in orchestrating the charges have enlisted as Internet organizers for former Senator Fred Thompson, who is preparing to enter the race formally. The tactics of these religious-right players, targeted below the radar against Romney, are calculated to alter decisively the outcome of the Republican primary contest.

The hostility of segments of the Christian right to Romney coincides with its mounting interest in Fred Thompson. Less than two weeks before Focus on the Family launched its attack on Romney, the Family Research Council began an informal campaign to rally support for Thompson. Without fanfare, the Family Research Council’s director of web communications, Joe Carter, and the group’s web editor, Jared Bridges, founded Blogs for Fred, a website that alternately shields Thompson from criticism and promotes him as the Great Right Hope. When Carter and Bridges are not plumping for Thompson, they blog on the website of the Family Research Council, advancing the causes of faith, family and freedom for the purportedly nonpartisan 501(c)(3) organization.
Damn, Max, for a moment there I thought one of your arch adversaries—David Horowitz, Michelle Malkin, Tony Perkins, Christopher Hitchens, etc.—had kidnapped and held you captive on some remote island! Max, yeah, I can’t wait to see more of your
Christian bashing vids. Why do you torture
yourself so much? It’s simple; move to Israel, then
you won’t have the stresses of trying to “survive”
in an environment that is 95% Christian. You are
trying to fight the mechanical forces of dislocation
from your primordial habitat, similar to the dolphins
at Sea World. They don’t really like it there, but have
no say in their lifestyle. You on the other hand, have
a choice.
Preston, if such an “island” existed, and Max were dumped
there, it would be dubbed, “Island-Of-The-Misfit-Toys.”
Moses, why are you asking Max to confirm the existence of
“closet homos?” Have hopes of expanding your dating
pool?
Dale, you “can’t wait for the video.” You three stooges
can be the “beta” and “omega” testers of this video,
since it won’t likely go any further, if history repeats
itself. Seems that conservatives, liberals, plant-life,
and single-cell amoebae, all reject Blumenthal’s
myopic view of life-in-the-big-city. Personally, I
can’t wait to see where the next slap-down is going to
come from. Must be the morbid curiosity thing..
Who knows,maybe the next spanking will come from
Mikey Moore himself, since Max is treading dangerously
close to Moore’s trademark techniques in “journalism?”

at the end of my first sentence, but it didn’t post.
Maybe because I surrounded it by brackets?
So I suggest that if you’re going to interject the word “yawn”
to describe Max’s drivel, use parentheses instead.
I have completely given up hope in Lizzie. I have tried to give this test-tube baby the benefit of the doubt that he’s not insane; however, his obsession with Max has reached beyond insanity. Why he comes here and posts his Limbaughian rants is beyond me. Maybe Lizzie is under the impression that an obscure, far-right, sexually-repressed poster such as himself (he can’t keep his mind off of homosexuality for some reason, ala Michael Savage) can irk Max with his predictable, knee-jerking diatribes. As I said before: Max has confronted more prominent far-right reactionaries in their face, so Lizzie’s sophomoric attempts to rile Max are futile and just plain childish.
But I have to hand it to you, Lizzie, you never fail to show your true colors as the bigoted conservative I’ve pegged you to be a while back. Telling Max that if he doesn’t like it here he should go to Israel is the equivalent of people telling me if I’m unsatisfied with the United States I should go back to Africa. I haven’t heard such retorts of that caliber since I was in junior high—then again, if one is as intellectually bankrupt and doltish such as yourself, middle school taunts and retorts are common practice in public discourse (just ask your hero Ann Coulter). How dare a Jew such as Max criticize The Christian Right and their despotic maneuvers to oppress those who may disagree with them! Who the hell does this liberal Jew think he is anyway?! Well, damn, how forgot: keeping “niggers in their place†isn’t the only goal by conservative bigots, but also repressing equalitarian Jews who dare question and critique fascist, far-right Christianity. There’s a huge difference in criticizing The Christian Right and Christianity (and if you go back to Max’s articles you will see that he always differentiate between the two; he never groups all Christians with the far-right version of Christianity). You also fail to point out how Max debunked Christopher Hitchens’ assertion that Martin Luther King, Jr.’s principles weren’t grounded on Christianity but secular humanitarianism—a refutation that doesn’t hold water when one reads or listens to King’s sermons given to a predominately black congregation. Thus, your lazy attempt to make Max this Jewish journalists that demonizes all Christians out of disgust and envy doesn’t fly, Lizzie, try again, bub.
Why do you continue to come here? What are you planning to accomplish, Lizzie? Aren’t you missing the latest circle-jerk at The Free Republic, reminiscing with your buddies about the good ol’ days of suppressing Negroes to third-class citizenship and systematically positioning women as genuflecting homebodies with little to no independence? Oh Lizzie, I give up. When one has the self-righteousness and stupidity to write a sentence such as —
– then there’s little to accomplish when holding a conversation with someone who uses the Sean Hannity Rule of Debating techniques to legitimize their rants.

Also speaking of Martin Luther King jr from what I understand
anyone who joined his activist group for civil rights
had to sign a membership pledge of some sorts saying
they had accepted Jesus etc. and were a Christian so
I think King was pretty heavily influenced with Christianity
and as Preston said just listen to some of his speeches.
Christopher Hitchens is a boob. I’ve at least personally
never seen him critcize George W Bush for having his whole
“Faith Based Initiatives” and giving government money
to these groups. Of course as I said that’s just me.
